– ABC breakfast radio announcer Eoin Cameron has died suddenly from a heart attack in Albany overnight, aged 65.
Eoin Cameron who recently retired due to ongoing ill-health, suffered a massive heart attack in Albany, where he was visiting family with his wife Wendy.
The shock news was broken on ABC radio this morning by close friend and colleague Geoff Hutchison.
Hutchison said Cameron, a veteran of 47 years on radio, and the undisputed king of Perth breakfast radio, would be missed greatly by many listeners and colleagues at the ABC.
“My great friend and colleague Eoin Cameron passed away last night, at the age of 65 down in Albany with Wendy. He’d been in Albany for a week or so to see his father-in-law, he had a heart attack last night,” Hutchison said.
